Jeppu, Thu, September 05 2024: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Jeppu Unit, organized a program to celebrate Teachers' Day on 5th September 2024 at 7:00 PM at Maria Jayanti Mandir, Jeppu, Mangalore.
After the Eucharistic Celebration the program commenced with a prayer song led by the members of ICYM. Mr Joel Alfred, the ICYM President, warmly welcomed the gathering along with the dignitaries on the dais Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza, the Parish Priest; Sr. Sylvia, the Superior of the Infant Mary’s Convent; Mrs. Marita D'Souza, the Parish Pastoral Council Secretary; Mr. Michael DSouza and Mrs. Shalet D’Souza, the ICYM Animators and Reshma Penha the ICYM Secretary.
Rev. Fr. Maxim D'Souza ceremoniously cut the cake on behalf of all the teachers, after which tokens of appreciation and commemorative gifts were presented to all 40 teachers. In his address, Rev. Fr. Maxim D'Souza shared an inspiring message for the teachers and extended his blessings for their continued success in their profession.
Mrs. Dorothy, a retired teacher, shared her personal journey in education, reflecting on the challenges, rewards, and passion that fuel the teaching profession. ICYM members organized interactive spot games, and a song dedicated to teachers was performed to convey best wishes to the teachers. Prizes were distributed to the winners by the ICYM members, adding to the celebratory spirit of the event.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by ICYM Secretary, Reshma Penha. Lavron Lobo excellently managed the proceedings as the Master of Ceremonies. The celebration ended with a delightful dinner, which added to the overall joyful and festive atmosphere.
