Parish Priest's Message:
Dear Friends,
St. Joseph Church in Jeppu has a long-standing history and is popularly known as Jeppu Church. Since the church is located within the seminary premises (also commonly referred to as Jeppu Seminary), which is dedicated to St. Joseph, the Jeppu Church is likewise dedicated to St. Joseph. The people of this parish and the surrounding areas have a strong devotion to St. Joseph. They often visit, seeking favours and fatherly intercession from him.
We are living in an era of social communication, where effective communication is crucial for success. The Second Vatican Council encourages the Church to make appropriate use of social media for spreading the Gospel. In line with this aim, I am pleased to announce the launch of our parish website. It is fitting to begin this venture on "Monthi Fest Day," which is our family feast. Since our parishioners are spread across the globe, this website will help us reach out to them and others, fostering a sense of unity thus building a good rapport.
Joseph, ‘The Just Man’, as the Gospel describes him, is a great inspiration for living according to Gospel values. His life of humility and utmost responsibility, challenges everyone in modern times to take care of their families. We are honoured to have St. Joseph as the patron of our parish. As the head of the Holy Family, the foster father of Jesus, the patron of the Universal Church, and the patron of our Mangalore Diocese, may his fatherly care and protection be experienced by us. May his intercession be upon our parish community and our seminary, leading all our activities to success.
I extend my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all those who have contributed to the creation and maintenance of this website. May this medium of communication bring us into closer communion and build a strong parish community.
St. Joseph, pray for us
Sincerely,
Rev. Fr Maxim D'Souza
