Celebration of The Feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary

Jeppu, Sun, September 08 2024: The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated on Sunday, September 8th, 2024. The main celebrant of the festive mass was Rev. Fr Chetan Lobo - Director, Assisi Press, Mangalore and was joined by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Maxim D'Souza and Rev. Fr Felix Monteiro

The festivities began with the blessing of the new crop by Rev. Fr Chetan Lobo at Infant Mary Convent, Jeppu and was followed by a procession and the singing of Marian hymns. After arriving at the church, the children of the parish offered flowers to Infant Mary which was then followed by the Holy Mass.

The liturgy was conducted by the Parish Pastoral Council. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Fr Chetan Lobo who spoke about the life of Mother Mary and gave a message about the importance of the feast and how the family played an important role today. After the mass, the Gurkars of various wards distributed the new crop and people were given sugarcane as well as breakfast
